| Bran Flakes
A breakfast cereal; large flakes made from the coarse outer layers of cereal
Finely milled outer layers of the wheat grain, removed during the early
stages of milling. Sprinkle on breakfast cereal, fruit, yoghurt, and breads
and cakes before baking or add to meatloaf mixtures.
Bran is the outer layer of cereal grain, such as wheat and rye, that
is removed in the process of manufacturing flour or meal. When added to
cereals or to bread flour, it is an important element in human nutrition,
providing roughage in the from of cellulouse.
